To reduce the possibility of flight departing with empty seats, airlines generally overbook flights to a limited extent. In case of overbooking on a particular flight, there may be circumstances on a particular day when more passengers report for the flight than the number of seats available. Under such conditions, airline may deny boarding to you while you may be holding confirmed bookings for travel on the flight and reported for the flight well within the specified time ahead of the departure of the flight.

Booking Issues
Some airlines use 24 hour clock time while displaying available flights. You may wrongly book a flight departing at 04:31pm rather than 04:31am and may miss your flight.
While making booking online, double-check the dates, time of flight(s) and your names as indicated in the passport or ID Card.
Misspelt name on a booked ticket may lead to the following complications:
If anything entered wrongly, airline may charge for the changes in the ticket.
You must read the terms and condition of carriage, fare components, airline fare refund policy, limit of free baggage, etc. before booking air ticket.

Airfare Component
Airlines also offer optional services on chargeable basis. You can avail the following services at the time of booking process and choose any of them on “opt-in” basis if you so desire:
Government has permitted unbundling of above services on opt-in basis (Air Transport Circular 03 of 2013)
Airlines display tariff sheet on their respective website indicating fare in multiple levels or buckets referred to as Reservation Booking Designators (RBDs) in accordance with the provision of Air Transport Circular 02 of 2010.
You have all rights to enquire from airline, in case of any other charges beyond those specified above.

Regulatory Provisions
A disruptive passenger is a person on-board aircraft who carries out any action or pursues a course of conduct which is unlawful according to the Aircraft Rules 1937 or any other regulation issued by the Government which is likely to endanger the safety of the aircraft or of any person or jeopardizes the good order and discipline on board the aircraft.
Following actions have been specified as unlawful behaviour under the Aircraft Rules 1937:
Rule 22: Assault and other acts of interference against a crew member
Offences punishable under the provision of Rule 161 with imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or with fine not exceeding five lakh rupees, or both.
Rule 23: Assault and other acts endangering safety or jeopardizing good order and discipline
Offences are punishable under the provision of Rule 161 with imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or with fine not exceeding five lakh rupees, or with both.
Rule 29: Acts likely to imperil the safety of aircraft

Conditions for De-boarding
If the Pilot-In-Command (PIC) of aircraft has reasonable grounds for believing that a passenger has done or can do anything that may jeopardize safety of the aircraft or persons or property on board, or the good order and discipline on board, then he/she is empowered under provisions of Rule 141 of the Aircraft Rules 1937 to take all reasonable measures, which may include physically restraining or de-boarding of unruly passenger.
